Splankalicious groovisticated sound waves systematically blowin' out yo ear holes with overtones of hyperspace and acute acceleration." With Matt Dolliver on Saxophone, Tyler Annicelli on bass, Cotter Ellis on Drums, Jake Vignone and Joe Agnello on guitar Elephant creates original, psychedelic, funky melodies that take you on a musical journey through the eras, into distant lands, through space and back again.
Elephant originated at Plymouth State University in the spring of 2013. Elephant's music has been characterised as a gender of their own. Incorporating elements of funk, pyschedelic, middle-eastern, electronic, jazz, and more!
"Playing fusion music from Neptune, these guys explore funky grooves that delve into Middle-Eastern, jazz, dub, reggae, electronic and everything in between."
"As the crowd grew under the cosmic comunity stage at Wild Woods Music Festival it felt like the coming on of hunger. You can't fake great music. Elephant, a band comprised of five members from the upper north east, is one of the reasons that drew me to Wild Woods Festival. Their electric energy is poised for something dynamic. The set starts with a Perfect buildup and then taking away. Often times complex and touching on a darker element of funk, it almost seems to let the inner beast out of people. Of the weekend, Elephant's fans seemed the most dedicated to the beat. For me this has to be a natural feeling, you can't force your dance. You have to let the band draw it out of you. Many bands have a clear member that is the driving leader of the band. Elephant seems to have to symbiotic relationship with eachother. A number of push pull moments between instruments shows the power of the combined efforts of its members without forcing a defined leader. Elephant is a band to pay attention to. Strength as a group, within the wildwoods. Strength of an Elephant"
