We are all betrayers to our genre.
Coming from varying backgrounds, including rock, metal, blues, funk and pop, each member of Downtown Felons possesses a love for punk and a zest to explore the depths of its perspicacity. From the Beatles to the Ramones, Foo Fighters to the Sex Pistols, Guns n Roses to Goldfinger, DTF pull influences from as far as the musical spectrum can reach.
How many Felons does it take to conquer the World?
Formed in 2012 in a basement in downtown Toronto, the Felons were a start-up of former bandmates Eli and Zack. A Craigslist ad was posted in search of a other members, but little did they know that returning hired gun musician, JoPo, was more than willing to take on the full time task. Joining with an excitement to play with fresh faces and new talent, the band ventured forward to discover the Kid, a young drummer named Vince, who was introduced to the Felons and immediately liked, being offered the role of drummer.
True, but totally different.
Every single DTF song can be classified in one way: totally different. While chord progressions can be replicated, the tone and sound of each song becomes a completely different monster in and of itself.
Where do Felons lie?
Always looking to gig, the DTF are ready to play where they're asked, building a loyal fanbase and bringing new punk to the masses. The Felons aren't cut and dry music - they're a new mix for a new generation looking for new sounds.
