DizzyFish, lead by Eric Herbst, combines the energy of classic rock and the passion of the blues, with the subtlety of the human voice and the acoustic guitar to create live performances that keep the audience hanging on every note. DizzyFish is a 5 piece live band with 2 Guitars, Bass, Drums and Keyboards. Though they also do Solo shows, Duos, Trios and Four Piece performances in smaller venues. Eric has opened Solo for national acts like The Steve Miller Band & Rick Derringer. The DizzyFish set includes Eric’s original music as well as passionate covers of classic songs from the wide range of its influences.
Eric Herbst (Lead Singer, Songwriter, Guitarist and Leader of the band) has written over 100 songs, including songs recorded by B.B. King and Johnny Cash. Herbst is widely respected for his writing abilities, producing and passionate performances. Herbst’s songs have been compared to those of Neil Young, John Lennon, Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones.
DizzyFish has recently recorded a new album of Herbst’s original music entitled DizzyFish -Swimming Up Stream. “I have done a lot of cool things in my music career, but this new record is the best thing I have ever done,” says Herbst. The first single, Silver Sands was released on Febuary 6th (Herbst‘s Birthday). It represents his finally finding happiness and love on the beach in Milford Ct and wanting people to find and experience their own happiness. It’s a surprisingly fun upbeat song with lyrics reminiscent of Bob Dylan that appeals to audiences of all ages.
The new album’s second single, Footsteps of Angels, was written by Herbst in the classic style of Elton John and Paul McCartney. It features Scott Guberman of Phil Lesh & Friends on piano, gospel singers and real violins. Footsteps of Angels was mixed by 11 time Grammy winning producer, Jay Newland. Jay won his two most recent Grammys in 2016.
Herbst, A staple artist of the CT music scene, has been a regular on Connecticut radio for the last 25 years. Herbst performed as the Musical Director for the Smith & Barber morning show on WPLR 99.1 and as the leader of the WHCN 105.9 house band, Eric’s Rapture. Eric and DizzyFish remain active with CT radio playing live public events for WPLR.

Herbst’s love of music was sparked at an early age when his older brothers first introduced him to the genius of the Beatles and The Rolling Stones. In his association with RRFC, Eric has had the honor of playing with several of his musical heroes such as Roger Daltry (The Who), Robbie Krieger (The Doors), Jack Bruce (Cream), Bill Wyman (The Rolling Stones), Slash (Guns n Roses) Joe Walsh (The Eagles), and Nick Mason (Pink Floyd).
