Dark Divide was formed in Feb.2013 & is all acoustic show doing a mix of original & cover songs, of Black Sabbath, Zakk Wylde & the like, with our own twist to the music. We were swamped with requests to do openers for other shows and venues.
Dark Divide has been referred to as Viking Folk Metal, Celtic Metal, or Chamber Metal, but we like to call it a Dark Chill Acoustic Change up of instruments through out the show is common, including Violin, Cello, Piano, Mandolin, Acoustic Guitars and Acoustic Bass, assorted percussions.
Dave, provides dark and gritty baritone vocals and acoustic guitar, Both classically trained Callie and Tyler add an exilence of precission to the show.
But we wanted to take time now to go into the studio to produce our 1st EP.
I am sorry these are not available yet on our page as they are still in Mastering so I will have to leave you with a brief description of the songs.
1. King of Ash:
We are in hopes the History channel might take interest in using this in an episode for their Series Vikings. It is 95% Instrumental until the Viking Funeral Prayer at the end.
2. Been a Long Wait:
Is a funerary song, posing the question How and where will you be in your time of dying
3. Alter Wine
Fueling the Viking Raids, were the Christian Priests, forcing the Vikings to denounce their Gods & take on a single God, or perish by the sword. One of the prized gifts brought back from the raids to the women in the Villages was the Priests Alter Wine.
4. In The Mist:
We jokingly refer to this as a tree hugger doomsday song, but it's about Mother Earth as she is in the stage of dying from the abuse of mankind, until she is forced into her rebirth.
5. Help Me, Find Me:
Plays out like a love song, but is a song about the relationship between the Sun and the Moon, and listening close you can hear the different phases of the Moon.
