Welcome, this is the website of the original TRAUMA, the San Francisco Heavy Metal band.
TRAUMA was founded in 1981. The band quickly became well known throughout the California Bay Area and beyond, playing legendary venues like The Stone, The Whiskey-A-Go-Go, and The Troubadour.
The original line-up included among others, legendary bass guitarist Cliff Burton and singer Donny Hillier. TRAUMA's track "Such A Shame" was included on Metal Blade Record's Metal Massacre II album in 1982.
The band changed some personnel around the time of Cliff Burton's departure, including the addition of drummer Kris Gustofson. In 1984 TRAUMA recorded their Scratch and Scream album for Shrapnel Records. The band received many excellent reviews from primarily American and European Metal magazines. The Scratch and Scream album has long been considered a collector's item. It has been pirated so often that Shrapnel Records has remastered the album and will rerelease it in 2013.
After a hiatus, TRAUMA has reformed with a new lineup. Donny Hillier and Kris Gustofson have been joined by guitarist Kurt Fry and bass guitarist Marcel Eaton. The band is once again playing live shows and has recorded a 6 song demo in late March 2013.
