I (Mike) started singing at the ripe age of about 4 years :-) mainly at birthdays, x-mas and so forth. The first recording was "I want a Cowboy for a husband" (Ich will nen Cowboy als Mann) which was an old German pop tune, strangely enough :-) My dad recorded my first attempt at country music, and apparently it was quite the entertainment to the family :-) I later on sang in school and church choir and at the age of about 10 I got my first guitar, from my auntie, and took piano lessons... eventually I started playing in bands at school (not woth mentioning though :-) ). For reasons beyond the music I got to travel the world extensively and so I had the opportunity to play in amyn countries and many cities but it was mainly just for fun. Only at about the age of 30 I started to play gigs for money, yes people actually paid me to play music.. well and here we are now... Mike Malak & The Fakers. My love is still country music.
Playing thus mainly country music and country rock, mostly cover music but with a growing repertoire of original music. Currently Mike, Marco and JP are mainly a studio formation, whilst Mike also plays solo live gigs.
