Voted the 2012 Wisconsin Area Music Industry's "Best Swing/Big Band Ensemble", the Madison blues powerhouse ,The Jimmys, comes at you with the Midwest’s finest talent. “2011 WAMI Best Keyboardist” Jimmy Voegeli brings his vocal and compositional talents to the forefront, supported by blues icon, Perry Weber (guitar), and rock and roll drumming legend, Mauro Magellan (The Georgia Satellites). Fan favorite, Johnny Wartenweiler, rounds out this all-star rhythm section on bass.
The Jimmys sound is uniquely defined by their four-piece horn section led by Pete Ross (alto sax) and Darren Sterud (trombone) with Chad Whittinghill (trumpet) and Bryan Husk (bari/tenor sax). These instrumentalists have shared the stage with Trombone Shorty, Clyde Stubblefield “The Original Funky Drummer”, BB King, Pinetop Perkins, Roscoe Mitchell, The Glenn Miller Orchestra, and Davina and the Vagabonds.
