Jade Rose and Rachel Redd have musically partnered to create the duo Left Lying. They have been creating music together for 7 years, after discovering excellent musical chemistry in 2006 when they wrote their first single ‘Let Go’. They enjoy performing together as much as they do writing. They are very passionate about writing meaningful, honest, and introspective songs. They have performed at festivals in North Adams, MA together, as well as many local venues.
Jade Rose is a singer/songwriter who has been immersed in music, teaching herself to play various instruments at a very young age. She first picked up a guitar when she was 11 and couldn’t stop writing songs. She gravitated towards folk-pop music very quickly because it matched her soulful voice. She has performed in 8 different states and is currently cutting her first in-studio solo c.d. Her vocal influences include Jennifer Knapp, Natalie Merchant, Sarah Mclachlan, Patty Griffin, Ani Difranco and the Cranberries.
Rachel Redd has been a music enthusiast since the age of 8 when she began her classical training on the Bb clarinet. She has been a self-taught guitarist for 8 years after a growing interest in college to play a more versatile and social instrument. She enjoys folk, jazz, and blues guitar. While playing fast pace folk rhythms she folds in melodic harmonies borrowed from jazz and blues influences to create a dynamic fusion. She is inspired by artists including Patty Griffin, Melissa Ferrick, and Jack Johnson.
