Often described as a rowdy, foot-stompin’, high-energy pub band, Fake MacKenzie has been performing their blend of traditional and modern Irish, Scottish and Canadian folk-rock tunes in and around Philadelphia, PA, since 2002. Their love for Celtic music, energy on stage, and interaction with audiences has come to be expected at each show they play, and fans are never disappointed!
Guitarist and lead vocalist Joshua founded the band in March of 2002 as a side project to his blues-rock band at that time, and has steadily picked up momentum ever since. Fake Mackenzie has always had a revolving door of very talented musicians that have played with the band over the years. “Over the last few years, the band has included a bunch of awesome musicians, but with Amanda and Keith, it's the best it’s ever been,” says Joshua. Fake MacKenzie’s current line-up of musicians finally came together in 2011 when drummer/percussionist Keith and multi-instrumentalist Amanda joined the band. While each member contributes with their own unique, energetic style, the combined effort blends perfectly to create their signature sound.
Fake MacKenzie brings a steadfast work ethic and commitment to playing the best shows possible! Whether the show is at a local pub, a spring-time street fair, or a summer Celtic Festival, Fake MacKenzie has been pleasing crowds for over a decade now, and will continue…..just so long as the beer is flowing, a floor to crash on, and a good story to tell in the morning!
