Before being dubbed "Uncle Rock" by his nephew, Robert Burke Warren performed as a bass player in many rock and roll bands, including international garage rock titans The Fleshtones. He also spent a year portraying Buddy Holly in Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story in London's West End, and has co-written songs for multi-Grammy winner Rosanne Cash and Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Wanda Jackson.
His latest CD The Big Picture is a socially conscious salute to his musical heroes, with sonic nods to David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, Cat Stevens, The Ramones, Johnny Cash and others. The engaging tributes feature lyrics that veer from whimsy to the necessity of recycling, acceptance of differences, and the importance of shopping locally.
Whether live or on CD/IPod, Uncle Rock’s “Rock of All Ages” music is a joyous, interactive experience for kids and parents alike.
