Red Skull Ritual / Bio

Please introduce us to Red Skull Ritual:
RedSkull Ritual is an intense progressive Metal band based out of Fort Saskatchewan.

Branden – Intense Powerful Vocals

Kyle – Amazing Energy Filled Drums
Andy “Red” – Eerie Melodic Guitar Solos
Dave “Bass” – Is the glue that holds it all together and keeps the groove

What brought you guys together as a band and how did you get your band name?

Andy has also been known as “Red” and has an affinity for skulls and horror movies.

When we play together everyone gets caught up in the ritual at hand.

How long have you been playing together with the current lineup?

We have been together for about a year.

If I was to put you on the spot and ask you to define your genre, what would you call it?

Grind core meets eerie industrial…… Grindustrial

Do you have any major artistic influences?

This is where the diversity in our music comes from. Influences include: Hellyea, Pantera, Fear Factory, Korn, Black Sabbath, Slipknot, Metallica, and more…

What is the most rewarding thing about being in a band?

The positive outlet of raw power and emotion.

What is the hardest part about being in a band?

Not having endless time to devote to writing and playing live.

How did you come across Supernova.com and what would you tell other artists about Supernova?

We were looking for a way to play Boonstock and saw lots of bands getting exposure with Supernova. It was an obvious choice. We played a show and won this promo package.

Do you have a motto or tradition for putting on a good show?

Branden our singer has a mascot “Yimmy”, he’s not part of the ritual. We get pumped up, run around and go crazy and yell. It looks like we’re getting ready for some MMA! Then we focus and channel our inner beast and band huddle.

What is your most memorable moment thus far as a band?

We played a local outdoor show at Duncan’s Place where the mosh pit was intense, started a riot!

At another show it was like the Partridge family opened for us and the stunned looks on the crowds faces, yea we did that and some of them got into it.

We really enjoyed playing all our shows.

What is the funniest story/strangest experience that you have had as a band?

Branden’s “yimmy” attacked someone… We have it on video!

On the funny side our dog “Rory” nutted Dave. It was impossible not to laugh.

If you had your way, where would you be in 2 years?

We’d like to keep playing shows and keep the momentum we created going. Get signed to a metal friendly lable like Roadrunner. And just get out music out there!

In closing, is there anything else that makes your band unique that new listeners should know?

We don’t have a set genre we just play what moves us. We are intense and powerful but melodic at the same time. We’re just RSR!
