The Rolling Blackouts were formed in 2012 from a combination of musicians friendly and local to the Nashville music scene. Lead singer and guitarist Jared Roberts has played in a number of original and cover groups in Nashville including the South Street Players, Roberts and Ellwood(with fellow guitarist Brian Ellwood) and King of the Disco(with fellow drummer Reed West). Andrew Littleton is a musical transplant from the Oklahoma City music scene that can be found leading his local church band and leading thumping bass lines with several metal bands in middle and west Tennessee. Brian Ellwood has made his name through the solo acoustic circuit in Nashville and has spent a number of nights as the handsome half of acoustic duo Roberts and Ellwood. Reed West has been playing guitar and writing for other artists in the Nashville rock and country scene since 2002 with such bands as The Rare Truth, King of the Disco, and Altered States. The combination of the four musicians picks apart several genres to produce a more aggressive version of the singer songwriter outfits you are accustomed to seeing.
