Fame was born Christopher Martin Stenschke on September 19, 1993 in Oakland, California. He was raised in a single parent home with his mother and older brother after his parents divorced when he was two. His mother is an accountant and entrepreneur so Although They Struggled She Made Sure She Eventually Made It Too A Middle Class Envirment by The Time He Was In 8th Grade. Although his father was not in the household he continued to have a healthy relationship with him.
Growing up Fame lived all over the Bay Area. He lived in Oakland, Richmond, Pittsburg, San Pablo, and Hercules before settling in Antioch, California where he now resides. When Fame was in the first grade he developed an interest in writing. He loved to write stories and then recite them back to his mother. He enjoyed this so much he asked his mother for a MP3 player so he could record himself reciting the stories he wrote. This led to him joining an acting group and performing in plays. Slowly he started making the transition from acting to rapping. He discovered he enjoyed putting his stories to melodies and he started making music. He also had an interest in sports and showed great promise as an athlete. His interest in sports started to fade as he got deeper and deeper into his music.
Fame began rapping and producing his own music at the tender age on ten. His first stage name was “C-Wells” given to him by his uncle. The C represented his first initial and Wells came about because he rapped so well. He later changed his name to “Young Fame” which was given to him by his older cousin “Dame Fame”. Dame Fame was well known on the Hip Hop scene for his work with Keek da Sneak, The Team and other Bay Area artists. By the time he was fifteen he dropped the “Young” from his name and became just “Fame”.
At this time Fame had a recording studio in his house. He had quite a following for his rapping and producing skills. All inspiring artist in the area came from miles around to work with him including r&b singers.
Fame’s music brings that old-school fun back to hip-hop. His rap style is somewhat boastful but very laid back and playful. He doesn’t take himself too seriously. He often introduces himself on his songs with his tag line “It’s Fame Baby”. He is best known for his clever and witty metaphors. Fame often uses samples in his music but he also likes to balance it out with live instruments. He is studying piano and often times you’ll find his signature piano sound on his tracks.
