WHUD FM Spotlight Artist , LaurieAnne, is a small town farm girl whose influences came from the classic country albums that her dad would play and sing~never knowing how this would somehow, down the road, lead to her love for music. In the early 80's she formed a band with her brother with her dad on sound , and it was then that she first met Fred Scribner . After her dad fell ill and passed in 1987, the thought of singing without him around was too much to handle. The band dissolved. Life went on until the spring of 2011 when she found her long-time friend/guitar player, Fred Scribner, on Facebook. He convinced her that she NEEDED to sing again and she decided to give it another shot. After a couple of years of performing together as a duo, LaurieAnne tried her hand at writing music. Her album, READY TO RIDE, is the result of coming "out of the comfort zone" . Produced by Scribner, this album showcases the pure country vocals of LaurieAnne infused with Fred's extraordinary guitar talents. This album mixes a splash of soul, a bit of edge and a touch of country rock along with a classic Patsy Cline cover, Sweet Dreams. In Feb. 2014, the song TOO LATE was featured on WHUD-FM ARTIST SPOTLIGHT series. The song , FEELS LIKE HOME, was chosen as a finalist in the Great American Song Contest in April 2014 and Semi-Finalist in the Song of the Year contest in July 2014.
In May 2015 , LaurieAnne released her second EP entitled SMALL TOWN GIRL. The all original album shows how she has evolved as a songwriter with catchy upbeat songs and a killer ballad . Once again produced by Scribner, this album will surely appeal to all audiences. This latest album is now in rotation on Pandora :)
LaurieAnne and Fred "Midnight Slim" Scribner perform as a duo and with a full band. She recently debuted songs from her first CD at The Falcon Arts and the band has played at West End in NYC, Bethel Harvest Festival and various upscale restaurants and venues in the region. In October of 2015 , LaurieAnne and Fred performed at the BLUES FOR BETHEL concert at Bethel Woods.
