As the name implies, the band’s sound ensures combustion on any stage or party. Elektrostarter is a two-piece band, that combines industrial rock, electronic beats, and dubsteb elements.
Somewhere around the time of the last major cosmic solar alignment, the band came together in South East Asia, as each of these musicians followed their own paths to tropical postal codes.
Tonio Neuhaus, the beatmeister, starting off honing his craft as a drummer, and programming industrial sounds on Commodores and Ataris. Influenced by other German bands such as Kraftwerk, and Einstuerzende Neubauten, he’s recorded with members of the seminal act Can, and shared stages with artists including Atari Teenage Riot.
He’s spent the past few years putting together a palette of samples and beats that are awe inspiring, whether on an arena stage, or rocking in the club.
Michael Kast is a guitarist specialising in the pure sound of the electric guitar. He’s spent time in the L.A. music scene, fine-tuning amplification with the city’s great guitarists. A virtuoso of noise and rock power chords, he provides a perfect complimenting meld to the band’s elektro sound.
Currently based in South East Asia, Elektostarter fuses together a dichotomy of experience with the sounds from their daily lives.
Elektrostarter has recently released their first EP, a collaboration with Canadian Singer Dirtstar.
Elekrostarter have won the Crystal Award of the VIMA Malaysia Independent Music Award competition with their Song Bright Blue Sky.
The electronical spin around that extravagant mix of music takes them right into the future and points ahead with a view over their shoulder: Elektrostarter takes off like a rocket crossing some time-dimensions through the guitar-loaded sound waves of the Seventies, passing by the dull and dark zones of the Prodigy-area right into the new millennium like furious pilots towards a singularity.
