Sadiq Bey is originally from Detroit. He has written and recorded for Existential Dread with Don Byron (Blue Note 1998); The Othello Syndrome (Venice Biennale, 2003) with Uri Caine (Winter & Winter, 2005; the opera Der Kastanien Ball with Stefan Winter (Winter & Winter 2005); The Othello Syndrome (Venice Biennale, 2003) with Uri Caine (Winter & Winter, 2005); Congo Evidence (Caligola Records, 2006); Fire In Zeroland, a live recording (Berlin, 2006) Schwartzegeist, with the poetry of Sun Ra; a limited edition box set of film music entitled Variety Show (Ego Bar, Dresden, 2008); SLOW THE EAR LP, with Studio Project Award from the Berlin Senate, Berlin (2007-8); collaborations with Brandon Ross, M-Base, Geri Allen and many others. Recently with guitarist Jean-Paul Bourelly forming Citizen X (2010-2013) and in 2014, lead voice with Uri Caine's 100th Anniversary Tribute to Arnold Schönberg's Piero Lunaire at Mozart Saal, Vienne. Currently working BMLF band and >green_man/, live electronic entities performing Spoken Word/song with Dub, Dubstep and Freelandscapes and solo performances of The Dead American with schwartzegeist.
