Eloise Rees is a 22-year-old singer-songwriter. A graduate of Plymouth University in media arts she signed with music management Downtown Artists in 2012 . Eloise is the little blonde girl with the massive guitar who belts out modern, melodic folk music with a contemporary country twist. Many of her songs are played in a range of alternative tunings, which gives her music into a style of its own.
Throughout her teens Eloise was part of a vibrant and varied music scene, which developed in and around her hometown of Wantage in Oxfordshire. Eloise was always surrounded by music growing up and her influences range from Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell and Neil Young to the more modern artists; Ben Howard, Laura Marling and Lissie. Her recent EP is a catchy and powerful offering and has received support from Witney Radi,o BBC Introducing Oxford ,BBC Radio Devon, BBC 6 music and 'Fire with Fire' was recently selected as Salford City radio song of the week.
Eloise has enjoyed supporting amongst others The View, Tom Mcrae and Hafdus Huld during 2013, however at a promotional event in London, Eloise was asked what she wished for most, she replied to 'play live in Nashville' and in September 2013 BBC introducing made her dream come true. She was one of three artists selected by Bob Harris and The BBC Introducing Team to play a showcase at Nashville's, Hardrock Cafe during The Americana Music Awards. Eloise describes this as 'the experience of a lifetime'. Since returning from Nashville Eloise has been touring with her band The Giants and is currently in the studio with the band recording her new EP due to be released early in the new year.
