The Social Bandits are a young yet experienced group that obtain a high level of showmanship and musicianship through their ability to feel out the crowd and adapt to the evolving styles of popular music. Their extensive list of originals and covers allows them to provide a new experience for each audience they perform.
Jesse Medawar (Lead Vocal, Guitar), Brad Rude (Bass, Vocal), Jared Bentley (Lead Guitar), and Dylan Walsh (Drums) have been jamming together for years, Jared and Brad even going back ten years having played in other bands together. With the addition of Alan Frost on keys, the band may be young, but they have the classic vibe that has been missing from main stream music today.
From the dive bars deep in Detroit to the sold out venues and festivals backing Michigan's own American Idol runner up, Jena Irene, The Social Bandits have had an impressive run of shows from all kinds of venues, audiences, and events that have educated them on the art of putting on a true rock show. Whether there are six regulars at a bar or six thousand families gathering at a festival, The Social Bandits will leave it all out on the stage and turn some heads in the process.
Willing and able to travel far and wide to perform, the band has performed at the coveted International Blues Challenge representing Detroit in Memphis, Tennessee featuring artists from 40 states and 16 countries. The band has also been on the road to play a label showcase for Jena Irene in New York City. The Social Bandits have tweaked and fine tuned their live show to cater to a very broad audience while maintaing their rock and roll roots and attitude.
The Social Bandits' first self titled EP is a great representation of what the band brings to the table. Catchy melodies, bluesy riffs, superb rhythm section, with a classic production. The band's ability to write hit songs is only matched by their musicianship and taste to back it up.
