Mark Vennis & Different Place / Bio

Mark Vennis & Different Place are a four piece band from Petersfield in
Hampshire and have been together in various line ups for a number of
They play original songs and old blues numbers and are influenced by
The Clash, Johnny Cash and BB King, not necessarily in that order.
They write story based songs about the ordinary and the extraordinary,
heavily influenced by cinema and literature.
They have played at two Strummerfests, at Guilfest, at Gosfest,
supported the Alabama 3, played at the Cannes Film Festival 2014 & 15
and at the Dingle Film Festival in Ireland and Music in the City
2013 and 2014 in Southampton, amongst many other gigs. Most recently they played at the Wickham Music Festival on the same bill as the Proclaimers.
The band have released one well reviewed album Uncharted Water,
Faded Glory and Other Stories and a four track EP We Were Only Boys
Back Then.
Their new EP, Last of the Holdouts, has just been released.
The core members are Mark Vennis, guitar and vocals, Dan Hunnisett,
guitar, vocals and harmonica, Dave Sweetenham bass and Brian Gee on
