SHANICE: An American singer-songwriter: In 1991, she scored a Top 5 Billboard hit with the single ‘I Love Your Smile’, followed by another Top 5 single, ‘Saving Forver for You’ in 1993. Labels: A&M, Motown, LaFace and currently, Imajah/PlayTyme (2005-present).

She started her career by taking the top prize on the world-renowned show, Star Search. She also appeared on the popular Kids Incorporated and was nominated for a Grammy. In addition to singing, she appeared on Broadway in 1997, as the first African-American to the role of Eponine, in the musical Les Miserables.
Wilson released her debut albmu, Discovery, at age 14.

The album produced two top ten R&B hits, “(Baby Tell Me) Can You Dance” and “No ½ Steppin”. Wilson went on to sign a record deal with Motown Records in 1991 and released Inner Child. The album included Wilson’s hit single “I Love Your Smile”, which reached number one in 22 countries, including the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and number two on The Billboard Hot 100. The album also featured a cover of Minnie Riperton’s 1974 hit, “Lovin You”. Wilson’s rendition brought attention to her five octave vocal range.

After Inner Child, Wilson contined to record albums, including 21…ways to Grow, in 1994. She has contributed some of her success to various film soundtracks, including Boomerage and The Meteor Man. She also found success with her top ten hit “Saving Forever For You”, Beverly Hills 9010 soundtrack. She recorded “If I Never Knew You”, a duet with Jon Secada, for the original soundtrack of Disney’s Pocahontas.

Wilson has performed with major recording artist Josh Groban in the heart-melting rendition, ‘The Prayer’, in both English and Italian, live at the Bellagio in Las Vegas for a fundraiser headed by Michael Milken and hotel impresario Steve Wynn. In 2010, she lent her vocals for the song “Behind the Mask”, on Michael Jackson’s posthumous album, Michael.

Her last project and fifth studio album, Every Woman Dreams, was released on her own label Imajah (named for her two children). The album peaked at #30 on the R&B charts.

She plans to get back out in front of the camera soon and back in the studio. “She is a phenomenal artist…with great range and depth”.
