The Battle of Gravelines / Bio

The Battle of Gravelines is a rock band based in Columbus, Ohio. Formed in summer 2011 by Nick Brownfield (vocals/guitar) and Ed Schwartz (drums/backing vocals), the position of bassist saw a rotating line-up settling on Ryan Bradford. We met in high school and found similar musical interests like including Green Day, Blink-182 and Sum 41. We each bring a unique style to the band. Nick’s style comes from his blues background and pop punk enjoyment. Ed brings 70’s rock mixed with thrash to the drums. Ryan’s bass parts are littered with his love of alternative rock and 80’s hair metal. Later on, the band decided to add another guitarist, so they decided to give Vinnie Kacinari a shot and soon decided to keep him on permanently. With this wide variety, songs take on a life of their own while being written; giving them a hook to catch the listener and good old rock to keep them there.
The name The Battle of Gravelines comes from the historical battle off the coast of Gravelines, France, where the English, with a rag tag group of ships took down the Spanish Armada, the most powerful navy at the time. We're the underdogs, ready to take on the world. – The Battle of Gravelines
