I have been playing guitar, singing and songwriting since 11th grade. I grew up on '50's/60's rock, but began playing mostly folk music. In addition to high school and college events, I performed in coffee houses in Hartford CT, Springfield MA, and Cambridge, MA. I also played in rock bands during college and in the US Navy.
In 1977/78, while stationed in Sicily, I played in a duo with Chris Edwards, a Navy friend. She added vocal tracks to a few original songs I recorded at the time, which are uploaded here.
In late 1978, my family and I moved to Northern VA, where I played briefly in a country rock band. In 1983 I joined a Catholic folk music choir, and was active for the next 30 years as a liturgical musician. I have played solo, directed teen and adult groups, written songs and a Mass setting, and recorded several CD's of praise and worship music.
I retired from my Navy career in Jan 2014 and moved to Banner Elk, NC. I now play an mix of acoustic pop, folk, country, and original material at local venues.
I have converted to digital format and uploaded old recordings of original secular material. Most of the material on this site was originally recorded at home during the early '70's on a two-track reel-to-reel, or in the mid-late '70's on a four-track reel to reel. Several songs feature an updated lead vocal track, with harmonies by Lindsey Leitera, recorded in 2009/10. Ed Stapanon plays bass, banjo and harmonizes on Appalachian Folk Society.
Some of the music production sounds dated, because it is. Am just looking to preserve my material. Enjoy.
