On occasion, a band emerges and rapidly makes a name for itself with a truly unique and eclectic sound. This is the case with Detroit’s Bristol Street, and is a stellar example of what can result when a group of individual artists puts all of their different and original energies into the mix, making music that is an undeniably entertaining union of soul and styles.
Bristol Street, named after the street three of the members grew up on, began performing to very reactive audiences in 2012, and have been gaining momentum ever since. Currently in studio with nationally acclaimed producer/engineer Chuck Alkazian and co-produced by Josh Karpowicz at Pearl Sound Studios, the band is recording an energetic, fresh and distinctive new EP, already generating fan and industry attention. A fusion of rock, funk, reggae, and blues, Bristol Street isn’t at all afraid to blend styles, and does it in a creative, smart, and engaging way. With slick and complex bass and guitar combinations, smooth vocals, and solid backing on drums, this band is all about making something their own, and creating music for listeners and the band members themselves to enjoy. With memorable songs on the new EP like the cleverly titled “Saul Goodman,” Bristol Street is ready to expand upon what has been an impressive year.
With their authentic sound and powerful live appeal, Bristol Street was recently announced the winner of the hotly contested 2014 Hard Rock Cafe Rising Detroit, competing against over 200 bands, As well as 89'x competition to open their end of summer show "Chill on the Hill". The band has performed at well-known venues such as the Freedom Hill, Hard Rock Cafe, the Crofoot, the Diesel Concert Lounge, the 89x Xmas Bash, The River 93.9 concert series, and many others. They have shared the stage with other Detroit area favorites such as Kaleido, The Infatuations, and Critical Bill, as well as national acts Zach Myers (of Shinedown), Saving Abel, A Day to Remember and The Offspring. Prepared to increase their live show radius and share their music with a greater listening audience, Bristol Street has all the components of band chemistry, style, professional dedication, and appreciation for their fans.
Bristol Street is George Aneed on vocals, Ryan James on rhythm guitar, Evan Maguire on lead guitar, piano and vocals, Cory Winkler on drums, and Matt Debartolo holding down the low end of the band on bass. The band has been featured on several radio shows including the popular Homeboy Show on 89x, has been highlighted in several respected area magazines, and with this new self titled EP, has placed no limits on expanding their audience. Stay tuned for new show dates and for song release information!
