I would like to introduce you to an exceptional emerging talent from Scotland, whose entire life has been rooted in and shaped by music.
Jonathan Henderson is an astoundingly skilled songwriter with an authentic and trademark sound, whose voice conveys great power with affecting sincerity and emotional depth.
Jonathan truly lives through his music and his curiosity with sound began as a toddler. Astounding audiences at just five years old, Ali Bain awarded him a fiver at a fiddler competition in Shetland! Since then he has grown into an impressive craftsman of songs with a prolific output garnered through his extensive experience in music and brought to fruition through a voice honed over years of dedication.
He has experienced life in a number of bands, appearing at The Wickerman Festival as a teenager in Rise to Ruin, and later impressing with his exceptional vocals and intriguing, intelligent lyrics in the Scottish final of the Global Battle of the Bands in Glasgow with Modest Theory.
Jonathan thrived in the famous acoustic scene in Aberdeen, appearing regularly all over the city and even has a song dedicated to this part of his life. He takes influence from a variety of strong sources, from Bruce Springsteen to The Shins and has been described as "Ryan Adams meets Idlewild".
Recently Jonathan has relocated to Glasgow, where he has really hit the ground running - already making a big stir in the acoustic scene, he has secured gig slots in the famous King Tut's Wah Wah Hut, The Arches and Pivo Pivo amongst countless other venues.
