I've been writing and singing since the age of 11 when I wrote my first song for my brother who was going through a difficult time in his life. I entered various talent shows and started performing in bars around East Texas and Lousianna at a young age. While a senior in highschool, I recorded my first album and immediately moved to Austin, Tx shortly after graduation. I spent the next 4 years fronting bands after releasing my 2nd album. I won a showcase at the famous Bluebird cafe in Nashville by winning a songwriting contest with the Austin Songwriter's Group and soon moved to Nashville. After moving to Nashville and performing in several writer rounds, I quickly noticed that the female artists didn't have as loud of a voice in the Nashville music scene as the guys did so I and another writer founded GetItGirlNashville http://www.getitgirlnashville.com where our motto is "One girl has a song, together we have a voice". It's been going strong now for 2 years and we are giving back to the Nashville community during breast cancer awareness month by hosting a benefit show. Here are some other accomplishments I've had since moving to Nashville..
- I opened for Josh Turner and Chris Young.
- I performed at the YMCA benefit show at Pucketts Grocery Nashville with Jeffrey Steele, Kix Brooks and several other songwriters.
- A song I cowrote and performed is part of a song track for the soon to be released movie “Second Impression.” https://www.facebook.com/pages/Second-Impression/280583175302101. The sound track includes artists Elton John, Snow Patrol, David Ramirez, and Subrosa Union.
- The song has also been nominated for an award at the 2014 Music in Media awards http://www.hmmawards.org/july-2014-music-genre-nominees/.
