John Rogue is a musician who has been performing since an early age. He first picked up a guitar at age 10 and began playing in the school band and taking private guitar lessons. By his early teens he was Jamming with friends and performing in several bands throughout junior high school. At age 16 John was asked to join a group of older more seasoned musicians, this provided him with a solid musical foundation and valuable learning experience performing both live and in the recording studio. In the early 1980's John moved to Clearwater Florida and continued to study music theory and perform in cover bands around the Tampa metro area. John returned to the Washington, DC area in the late 80's and became a founding member of the band Absolute Zero, after a few lineup changes the band’s name was changed to Sunbolt, which would go on to play shows around the Mid-Atlantic region for over 10 years, this was a very busy project playing just about every rock club in the Region. In 2003 the band added a new bass player and took the name Soul Minor, which played its final gig on St. Patrick’s Day 2005. After 15 years of gigging John decided to take some time away from live performance to pursue a degree in music. In 2006 he began taking courses at Berklee College of Music and completed his Professional Guitar Certification in 2007. In 2008 John began collaborating with Kenn Taylor, former lead singer of the 80's hard rock band and Atlantic Recording artist DC STAR. John spent 2009 and 2010 in the studio recording guitar for Kenn’s album Never Surrender, which was released in 2011. John’s guitar work caught the attention of Sovereign Records and he was offered a three album recording contract in 2012. John’s debut album titled Yin and Yang was released on Sovereign Records in December of 2013 followed shortly by his signing a management deal with Phoenix Artist Management. 2014 looks like a great year with touring and a new album on the horizon.
