Dreams In Stereo is a band started by the songwriting and producing duo of Aaron Bagley and Travis Szendrei. Their debut album is a collection of songs that were part of a healing process for Szendrei, who shortly after moving to Los Angles was involved in a serious car accident. With a long road of physical and mental healing ahead, the two longtime friends decided to turn the event into something positive and they hit the studio and began writing. The lyrics were just pouring out of Szendrei. “I have always felt like I’m at my best creatively when I hit a low. The fact is, I feel like I could have died and I didn’t, so I’m going to take advantage of that. It’s time to make music simply because I’m alive and it’s what I’m supposed to be doing.”
Dreams In Stereo is quickly making a name for themselves around Southern California with their live show, which like the band’s debut album, changes from lush dreamy sounds to catchy rock/pop songs from one song to the next. Piano and synth player Jody Bagley brings an incredible amount of talent to the group and his vocal harmonies with his brother Aaron have been captivating audiences. Longtime friend and collaborator, Dan Kramer, rounds out the band with his hard-hitting drumming making this foursome a powerhouse on stage. The band came out strong with debut shows in early 2013 at the Viper Room in Hollywood, CA and at South by Southwest in Austin, TX.
Dreams In Stereo is set to release their debut album in the summer of 2013. Produced and recorded by Bagley and Szendrei in their studio, The Resonation Room, the album is being mixed by Tommy Walter (Abandoned Pools / The Eels). The album features a diverse collection of songs and shows a versatile songwriting team that can write songs not only for themselves but for others as well. Guest appearances on the album include Tommy Walter (Abandoned Pools / The Eels), Dave Gutter (Paranoid Social Club / Rustic Overtones) and Aaron Lee (Aaron Lee and the Love Vigilantes) all providing lead vocals to a song they collaborated on with Bagley and Szendrei.
“To put it honestly, it can be very hard to find amazing artists like the ones listed above to work with. I feel very fortunate that we’ve had this opportunity” Says Szendrei.
