J.PRINCE was born and raised in the city of Buffalo, NY. Since J can remember he has always been involved in church and comes from a God oriented family. He says he’s truly focused on God more than ever. At the age of 10 after getting in some trouble that caused him to spend 4 1/2years in juvenile detention center he decided to its time to do something else with his life instead of letting Satan use him for foolishness. Once released he instantly set out to be mentored and help his uncle who is a gospel DJ and manager. It was with him that J.PRINCE got his 1st real chance at acting. Even though the show only had a short run and J didn’t have a huge script. It was on stage that he knew deep down he was spreading the good news of God and also that he wanted to mainly minister to children in order to deflect them going down the same road he did or making similar mistakes. Its wasn’t til 2006 that J.PRINCE was introduced to gospel hip hop. Believe it or not he didn’t even know how to rap, write or anthing like that, even though he comes from a musically inclined family. One day Jayso’n uncle DJ Henri~Tee called and asked him to join a group he was putting together. Saying yes with no prior knowledge of the industry, just went in head first. By doing so completing the group R.O.C (redeemed of Christ). In 2008 after having some success they broke apart to pursue their own personal careers. J.PRINCE knows Jesus is in what he’s doing because out of everyone that left the group, he is the only one who is still doing gospel. Since going solo J.PRINCE has done a lot for holy hip-hop both local and abroad releasing a total of 15 mixtapes, winning countless awards including best solo artist & best mixtape artist. He helped start Direct Impact Gospel Youth Events, He has also been a co-host and supporter of Soul~Trinity Music Hour, a Christian based show that offer all genres of gospel on the only 24hr gospel radio station in western New York 1270AM WHLD. J.PRINCE gives all praise and glory to God for taking a troubled child who people had given up on, and turning him into what he is today, an artist, label co-chair, coordinator, a father and most of all a true man after God’s own heart.
