Singer Songwriter, Ann Marie Polito was born and raised in Poughkeepsie, New York on December 3, 1962. Ann Marie has been playing guitar and singing since she was about 14 years old; all self-taught. She began writing her own songs in the late 70's.
Ann Marie has resided in various locations in the tri-state area and in the 80s early 90s, had the pleasure of performing her original music at several venues in New York City and surrounding areas, promoting her cassette tapes. In 1991, Ann Marie opened for Grammy Award-winning American songwriter, folk singer, humorist, and actor, Loudon Wainwright III at the Club Bene in Sayerville, NJ.
Ann Marie moved to Brick, NJ In 2007 from North Jersey.
In June 2013, Ann Marie released a new CD, "Then and Now", which is a compilation of old songs and new. She has been actively performing in the Asbury Park and surrounding areas, such as Red Bank and Rumson, promoting her CD.
Ann Marie has shared the stage with legendary rhythm guitarist, Earl Slick (John Lennon, David Bowie), at several private shows in the Hudson Valley area. Earl contributed to Ann Marie's CD and is featured on the first three tracks of her album.
Ann Marie has been influenced by many different artists varying in styles, as you will find evident when listening to her songs. Her music varies in styles from Rock, Blues, Jazz, Country, to Ballads, offering her own unique sound.
She believes in her music and she continues to keep her dream alive.
