Everyone needs an outlet, something that allows us to be completely uninhibited and true to ourselves. It's the one thing that breaks down all barriers and everything is limitless. It is ultimate freedom. For many, that's the beauty of music. It's more than just entertainment, it's inspiration.
Roger first picked up the guitar at the age of 14. The rest, as they say, is history. Blown away by how capable music was at moving people, he began to explore. Over the years he dedicated himself to honing his craft, constantly looking to improve. With a passion for songwriting he began writing for everyone that would allow him. Pop, Rock, Punk, Hip Hop, R&B, Reggae, Country, Metal...he did it all. Almost. Part of his journey included picking up new instruments along the way in bass guitar, drums, and piano.
"Everything...and nothing," Roger says when describing his sound. "I've been a part of so many different projects and genres over the years, I've definitely kept myself busy. This sound right now, to me, is me pulling from everything that I've ever connected with. I've had people tell me it's pop, others tell me it's rock, hip hop, etc. As far as I'm concerned it's just...well, it's 100% me."
Everything from Elvis, Michael Jackson, Maroon 5 and Alicia Keys to OneRepublic, Bruno Mars, Flo Rida and Jay-Z. "I like so much," he says with a laugh. "I think that's what allows me to do some of the things I do. In one song I'll just be straight up singing and in another, you know, I might bust out a rap. That's what makes writing music so exciting for me. I never know what kind of song it's going to be until it's finished."
