The Detroit Hammers are a rock n roll, country blues band, from Detroit, Michigan.
In 2012, founding member, Steve Cox, assembled the finest live players in the Detroit area, that are also capable of doing session/recording work similar to the Nashville model. The Hammers’ lineup was tailored to accommodate the vibe and intensity of the original music, and it’s taken several years of aggressive searching and the auditioning dozens of players to find the ones who can deliver the Hammer blow live as well.
The Detroit Hammers are all professional, focused, experienced, mature in behavior (offstage), highly entertaining and magnetic onstage. All the members are highly paid session and live players, the band is making a reputation as the easiest, most professional, businesslike music act, who can deliver the mother-lode in concert. These players have a ton of experience, accomplishments, accolades, and have played, toured or supported in concert with so many noteable artists such as, The Rolling Stones, Gregg Allman, Molly Hatchet, Ray Charles, Trey Anastasio, Mitch Ryder’s Detroit Wheels, and too many more to list.
In 2012, after assembling the band, and developing a solid infrastructure for the band, the Detroit Hammers were born. Cox then began recording the best of his music, and started performing locally to test the band, and the music in front of those familiar with his music, and those who had never seen or heard his original music. After stellar successes, money, studio time, numerous opportunities came like never before. Early 2013, saw the release of the Detroit Hammers first CD, titled; “Homegrown”, recorded in both Nashville and Detroit. The sessions included guests from Bob Seger’s, Garth Brooks’, Hank Jr., and Delbert McClinton’s band.
All of the Detroit Hammers’ members are hungry and talented, wanting to bring this band to the big stage, and have the goods to knock it out of the park, and sustain a long run of recording and touring. This is our passion, and we’re bettin’ the farm on each other.
2014 saw their 2nd CD recorded in Detroit and Nashville, a full live schedule, and a locally developed promo campaign that will target our demographic, and allow us to target market our audience, in different locations, to facilitate building followings within desired regions.
