I have been Solo now for a few years. Unfortunately all my bands have failed due to my egomania(at least I'm honest). I can't seem to find other musicians that share the same vision as me(cuz it's always evolving), and If I do, they are not willing to put in the work to achieve greatness, or any kind of stature of success in the music business. I am not a business man. I am an artist and a musician. I do not like to work with musicians that are only concerned with revenue for the band or themselves. I write from what I know and have experienced, and what comes out from my heart and soul, and for this very reason I believe that I am alone in this quest, but can still draw upon friends in the scene to produce music that I think people will enjoy. I believe my "style" is unique in the sense that I have a very wide palette of genres that I am able to draw from. I'm ever searching for inspiration whenever and wherever it happens to strike. As an example, I recently learned a song of an artist by the name of Missy Higgins, an Australian Singer/pianist. Her vocals struck me in way that it does to a musician where you feel the emotion, the chord progression is simple, but effective, and overall genuine. There in lies my point I think. Basically, what I want to achieve is a genuine approach to music that I think is lacking in today's musicians and aspiring talents. They see what the media shows them thinking that it is truly great music, when in fact all your seeing is what the major industry corporations want you to see. Thus in my own perception, producing clones. I don't buy into any fads or hyped up media buzz. My 20+ experience playing music in bands, writing, arranging, composing, and performing will be the judge of weather or not a piece of music gains my respect. And also, if it's genuine, I'm sold, no matter what the genre. So there you go. I've shared enough. I'll let the music speak for itself now. Thanks for reading if you did.
