Music has been a part of my life, and truthfully my whole family, probably dating all the way back to the Rankin Family Circus of Illinois in the 1890's (Yes. My family owned a circus). I have the privilege of spending my days writing and, as many nights as possible, standing in front of an audience of 2 to 2,000 telling stories (who are we kidding? Audiences of 2-20). I spent 5 years chasing the "American Dream," until I found the love of my life, and knew that the only way to keep her was to give up on status and start pursuing passion and whatever made me come alive. She didn't deserve anything less. And she wouldn't accept anything less for me. She is my rock, my partner, my encouragement, my #1 fan, and I'm proud to say, my wife. I love you, Alyssa Jade.
This is a journey, but it's an adventure. Yvon Chouinard once said, "Real adventure is defined best as a journey from which you may not come back alive, and certainly not as the same person." I sincerely hope you'll join me on this one.
