Electronic, ambient music to chill out to... thoughtRadar is the solo project of Rick Martin, and it debuts with the 5 song EP, Days Off. It is a dynamic, melodic blend of traditional musicianship, electronic rock, chill out, and cinematic music - loaded with vitamins. It's an ambient, instrumental mix of guitars, keyboards, and 70's synths. Think Radiohead meets Air, minus the vocals but... only one dude. Environmentally sustainable and gluten free, each song is packed with antioxidants which can, potentially, add years onto your life, and if listened to on a regular basis, could even guarantee you a place in the afterlife.
Currently based in Los Angeles, Rick Martin got his start in his hometown of Seattle, leading multiple bands, as the city exploded onto the music scene. His bands, including Ruben Kinkaid and Pop Shaman, played the famous Seattle club circuit, rubbing shoulders with Mother Love Bone, Soundgarden, The Posies and early Nirvana. In 1999, he moved to Vancouver, Canada and studied multimedia, discovering electronic music. He then began to combine this experience with his roots as a guitarist/composer. Initially influenced by the likes of Jimi Hendrix and the Beatles, he also studied Jazz, paying close attention to such guitar greats as Wes Montgomery, early George Benson, and Grant Green, giving the rock and pop melodies a jazzy undertone. Now he is just confused.
