Born February 2,1989 in Miami,FL Rob Dank grew up in the midst of the emergence of some of the greatest rap and hip hop music ever made. He started listening to rap when he was 5 years old when he heard Tupacs "Keep Ya Head Up" and instantly fell in love with the Music. As he grew his love continued to grow and he started listening to more and more of the upcoming artist of the day. Some of his influences included, The Notorious B.I.G, 2Pac, Nas, Big Pun and Jay-Z which he credits for helping develop his style. As a child his upbringing wasn't the greatest and he often found himself hanging around with an older crowd being exposed to the type of things most kids won't learn about or experience til early adulthood. Being schooled at a young age helped mold his mind to see the world differently then his peers. With early knowledge on life he also absorbed the jewels many rappers in the 90's dropped and began self educating himself on how to make smart decisions with the cards life dealt him. He was memorizing Biggie's Ready to Die, Life After Death and Nas's I Am album by the age of 9 and not long after his musical influences began to grow more and more. Southern Hip Hop was in it's country wide emergence at the time and rap groups such as UGK, Three 6 Mafia and rapper Trick Daddy began to have a major influence on him as well him. He leaned about poetry in a 5th grade language arts class and he instantly thrived at it, linking the connection to the music he always listened to. As he grew through adolescence and was in his senior year of high school, he began freestyling with friends whenever they smoked weed. At first it was just a hobby of sorts til his natural talent and critical thinking skills came into play. Not long after graduating high school he knew that music was going to be his life. Nothing made him feel more free than listening to or making music and he knew how the power of music could help change peoples lives by connecting with them. "Just a few seconds of your favorite song can instantly change your mood" he says and that his ultimate goal is to make those type of songs. He is currently finishing work on his debut mixtape entitled "Chasing Dreams" which is set to drop in the late summer of 2014. Look out for new videos and tracks that are also set to be released soon.
