ZFL / Bio

ZFL - The 'Rumors Of War" are true!

Metallica...Pantera...Lamb Of God...ZFL! With a Release date of 3/28/15, ZFL will begin flooding the market with 'Rumors Of War', bringing their shockingly fresh and intelligent brand of metal out of the Baltimore area to you! The album is about beginning to wake up in a world of sleeping slaves. It's a recognition of, and a reaction to, the entrenched systems of control and their effect on the human condition.

"ZFL are extremely hard workers...they have a real dedication to what they do...", Ron Vento (Nightsky Studios & Auroroa Borealis). Summer 2014 saw ZFL become a Sumerian Records Alumni band and earn an opening spot their Summer Slaughter Tour, playing with the likes of Morbid Angel, Dying Fetus, and Thy Art Is Murder. ZFL were finalists in the 2013 Project Independent nationwide battle of the bands. "the Baltimore, MD quartet certainly does not suck...the transitions and contrast are enough to prove this band has strong songwriting as one of it's biggest assets", Borivoj Krgin (Blabbermouth.net & Metal Maniacs).

ZFL formed in late December 99' in Aberdeen, MD. 'Looking Back' was released in 2000, earning ZFL a spot on the 2001 NJ Metal Meltdown III with bands like Mastodon and Amorphis. CDs were sold globally and ZFL were in communication with some major labels. After recording 2004's 'Mountains Of Misery' with great expectations, the band imploded with the departure of two founding members. After an 8 year hiatus, the band reformed in March 2012 and immediately went to work developing a new, more brutal sound with positive, intelligent lyrics.

With The release of 'Rumors of war', ZFL expect to share their brutal, grooving blend of both the old and new schools of metal on a much larger scale. The band's aggressive yet positive lyrics incorporate political and religious conspiracy, spirituality and consciousness, the breakdown of society, and the search for overall transcendence. "watch out for these guys, might just be the next big thing!", Rich Brzozowski (DIERIGHTNOW Fanzine)
