The LDJ Band was formed in early 2013. It all started with Larry Sumpter and Dan Schwein playing in the church worship band. They quickly realized they not only shared a passion to play for Christ but also country music....especially the classics, Texas/Red Dirt, and of course George Strait! In the beginning, everyone just called them The Larry and Dan Band. Eventually, they were able to convince their metal head buddy Jacob Garrett to come over to the country side and at that point they became The LDJ Band. After playing a short stint of coffee shops and restaurants it was apparent they had found something special and began to grow the band. In their short time playing together as a band they developed a unique sound and style. I think Brett Dillon (KHYI 95.3 The Range) said it best when he labeled them "Hillbilly Funk". In the three plus years as a group, they have played some of the most well known venues across the south. Though they still love to play the classic country, Texas/Red Dirt, and Southern Rock songs at every show their true passion is performing their originals every chance they get. They strive to write and create fun music people can relate to while keeping the pure country tradition alive.
Much anticipated debut album "Wild And Free" scheduled to release August 2016 with both studio and live cuts. First single off the album "San Antonio" to hit radio June 2016.
