Artie Tobia / Bio

Coming off of a string of great shows. After opening for the Sub dudes and Tanya Tucker in January and February. We headlined at BBking's in May with the Matt Rae Trio playing a smoking hot set in front of us. Then It was supporting slots for 6 time grammy winner and rock and roll hall of fame inductee Dr. John, to start off the month of June, followed by a supporting slot for Classic Rock icons Kansas on June 26th. Can you say whoooooo hoooooo Dorothy?
Aberdeen though not charting as high, is still getting airplay across the country. We have a couple of "in studio" radio station performances on tap for CT and NY. It has been a beautiful ride. The festival season is starting to fall into to place and we are e excited about a few opportunities coming our way.

2015 Artie got off to a strong start opening up for American Idol Winner David Cook in February of 2015. Simultaneousley he was putting the final touches on his newest record Aberdeen. It dropped the Summer 2015 to positive reviews. Aberdeen got a Top Ten Song of the Week nod from Alternate Root Magazine for the week of 8/15/2015. Jim Clarke from the Lee County Courier stated "Indie Folk Rocker releases his best CD Yet." More Sugar said "Aberdeen is like taking a stroll through Artie's magnetic soul."
Airplay started coming in September with a debut spin on WLVR in Allentown, PA. Followed by American Rhythm Magazine interviewing Artie as part of their Inside Track Series and printed portions of the interview in their September issue. October Aberdeen really took off with the first leg of a National Radio campaign launch that sent Aberdeen to #28 in its first week on the Americana/AAA APD Chart. Climbing to #13 the following week. It ended up at # 19 for the month of October with Artie nestled in just below two of his biggest influences, Gregg Allman and John Mellencamp. That charting got Artie noticed internationally by John Godfrey on The Troubadour Show out of Spain, who selected River of Tears as a Track of the Day for the Week (10/14 - 21). An Appearance on "Connecticut Rocks" with host Bob D'Aprile for an in studio interview and performance only provided more radio presence for Aberdeen.
Paul Rostetter a respected journalist from Switzerland identified Artie as a brilliant example of the American Singer/Songwriter. he was followed by Eric Schuurmans from Rootstime in Belgium who chimed in on Aberdeen with a very detailed review of each of the nine tracks on Aberdeen.

October closed out with Markos Papadatos Digital Journal's Editor-at-Large for music news, who interviewed Artie about his new cd, Americana Music and a surprise question. go to http://artietobia.com/home/blog/powerjounalist-markos-papadatos-interviews-artie for the complete article.

The foundation for all the events surrounding Aberdeen were taking root in 2014 supporting the iconic and legendary Chip Taylor. Which came on the heels supporting Kenny Wayne Shepherd. He is also a Five Time Best of the Gold Coast Award Winner (2008- '12).

His storytelling approach, like a series of mini novels with characters, events and emotion that resonate with listeners of all ages making it easy for him to connect with the audience.

“Chase the Sun” ( 2007) as well as “Still in The Way” (2004) and “The Parade” ( 2001)
are being played across the country on terrestrial radio stations, as well as on Spotify, I tunes, Amazon.
and Pandora Radio; his music video for “Vagabond,”( the semi auto biographical main character of Chase The Sun)
was featured in June and July across the country, after being named a winner on Fuse TV’s Unsigned On Demand Series in June of 2011.

Aberdeen now joins its predecessors on iTunes and the newly launched Apple Music.
