Monica Maria's sound is like a soothing, warm ocean breeze full of rejuvenating sea mist while the sun kisses your skin, where you can’t feel the difference between your body and the air embracing you. Her Latin-Soul-Folk compositions paint the portrait of a soul that illuminates the space around it with love, faith and warmth. You can hear all of her influences in her writing - modern Pop, R&B, Latin & Folk music that reflect her Californian roots mixed with traditional & modern sounds of Latin America. Her sound is innovative and is expressive of a world where cultures coexist, fear is transformed by compassion, where we learn to truly love ourselves, and where we view the world from an empathetic and blissful state of mind.
Soul said aloud translates to "sun" (sol) in Spanish. Soul+sun+water are three necessary components to life, as is music.
