This savage tribe was gathered together when, back in October 2011, four friends and fellow postgraduate Archaeology students, joined their forces for one single purpose...to play pure, raw, freaking rock and roll. Despite the absolute lack of musical knowledge by the two guitarists of the band and the complete infamiliarity of the bassist and drummer with their instruments (both former guitar players), the longing of the band to play, soon came to be extremely productive. In a few months time the Savagiz had their first 5 tracks in almost complete form and many more already written. Althought the band had to deal with extended breaks and a great lack of rehearsing time, we sticked together through better and worse and managed to deliver an astonishing performance in May at the University Music Team of Rethymno Summerf Festival, among other important local bands as, Solar Wind, Semi Life, Weird Totem and local metal giants, Obzerv. After another extended break during the summer, the band came back into rehearsing, with 2 more songs and commited into doing whatever we could to record these songs. Finally at the 20th of October, and after another shocking, in many ways, performance, Savagiz entered Groove Studio to record their first demo. "Wet Dreams & Rock N'Roll" was recorded live by the band in only 5 hours time. The Demo contains 7 tracks, two of them featuring the notorius guitar prodigy and close friend of the band, Panos Georgalis. The Demo awaits for its release in the next days and it will be available for free download from here and the bands Bandcamp site.
Savagiz might not be musical geniuses, our songs might sound to the experienced ear, dull, incomplete or lacking even the basic technic. But our music comes from the heart, raw, crude and pure. We mean every false note and we feel every shrieking scream. And thats all that it matters for us, thats all we stand for. Playing our Savage Rock in the face of this metetricius world. Salute.
