About Cinder:

Born and raised in Southern California, Cinder Jean's family moved to Santa Barbara in the late 1960s from Manhattan Beach California. Cinder Jean started playing the guitar at age ten and thus her passion for song writing emerged. She began her musical career in Santa Barbara playing her guitar and singing in local venues and coffee houses at age fifteen. Cinder plays a variety of musical instruments. Guitar, ukulele, harmonica, piano, percussion and american indian flute.

Cinder had a steady gig for several years through the mid to late 80s in Ventura California playing five nights a week in the Bay View Lounge at the Holiday Inn Beach Resort. Their she had the opportunity to become part of a classic concert series where she opened for many artists such as: Dave Mason, Al Stewart, Donavon, Arlo Guthrie, Don McLean, Ronnie Milsap, Kris Kristofferson and more.

During this time she met a pianist named Robert Brown. They formed a duet called "Nightshades." Nightshades became a successful touring duo playing festivals, concerts, resort hotels, night clubs, and private parties.

Nightshades toured many places including Los Angeles, Phoenix, Dallas, Colorado, New Mexico, Alaska and Japan. As time wore on Nightshades ended. But at the end of all things lies a new beginning, they left the road behind to find new horizons.

Cinder Jean returned home to Santa Barbara in 2000 to find her roots in folk music and continue taking college classes working towards her AA in music. Cinder released her CD Strands Of Time in 2005.

Cinder has now teamed up with ace blues man Robert Thomas. They released a CD in the summer 2010 called "My Hawaiian Hut" Robert and Cinder play folk, blues, hawaiian-slack key guitar and sing together. Cinder Jean and Robert Thomas have been performing, writing, recording and composing this genre for the past several years.

Cinder Jean released her CD Sprit Of The East Wind in the summer of 2010 featuring all native american flute compositions. Her new CD Ethereal Echoes was released in January of 2012 and can be found on itunes, along with the other CDs, My Hawaiian Hut and Strands Of Time.

Cinder Jean has a folk, blues, country and jazz musical background and Robert Thomas has a strong Texas blues music background. The two of them have merged their musical styles together to create a harmonic convergence that is truly unique to the listener.

Cinder Jean also teaches private music lessons. She has worked as a guitarist, vocalist, composer, arranger, and educator for the past ten years in Santa Barbara. Cinder started her own business called Guitar On Wheels and specializes in working with children and adults of all ages. Cinder teaches a variety of musical styles including originals, rock, blues, country, folk and Jazz.
