Bobby Pounds / Bio

Bobby Pounds is a singer/songwriter from Austin, Texas. This site includes songs written and sung by Bobby Pounds and some demos and album cuts from other artists of songs written by Bobby. You will hear them all in his live show. Noteable album cuts include "Don't Touch My Willie" and "Triple Crown" off Kevin Fowler's Loose, Loud & Crazy CD and "Best Mistake I Ever Made" off Kevin Fowler's Bring It On CD.

Bobby first got into music back in 1990 by singing in local talent contests and teaching himself to play guitar. He wrote his first song in 1991 when he was a senior at the University of Texas and has been writing songs ever since. He's won multiple local, regional and national songwriting awards, and he estimates that he's written over 150 songs. A few of those songs caught the ear of Mike Daily of George Strait's Ace in the Hole Band and Bobby had his first songwriting deal back in 1995 with Hot Seat Music out of San Marcos. He still works with Mike and Hot Seat Music to this day.

Bobby's shows are a mix of original Country to traditional hardcore Country with a rockin edge. His arrangements on classic covers by Merle Haggard, Ray Price, Hank Jr., and others keep the excitement flowing and the people dancing.
