Lauren Jones is a blooming singer songwriter from Essexville, Michigan, who continues to perform and impress audiences with her original songs. She is currently perfecting her talents while a student in the acclaimed Popular Music Program at the University of Southern California.
Lauren has a unique sound that combines simplicity with soul. She is a born singer-songwriter, who crafts catchy and memorable songs that blend excellent musicianship with emotive lyrics and dynamic vocals. Often compared to Missy Higgins or Patty Griffin, her wide-array of influences range from the darker tones of Mat Kearney and Brandi Carlile to the lighter music of Jack Johnson and Jason Mraz.
Born & raised in Michigan, she grew up listening to her father play old Beatles tunes, sparking her to pick up the guitar at just thirteen years old. She soon discovered a passion for songwriting. Lauren began taking it seriously when she turned fifteen and started playing shows locally in Bay City, MI.
Opportunity led Lauren to enroll at Interlochen Arts Academy. At age sixteen, she joined the inaugural class of singer-songwriters, who were among the nation’s first high school students to major in a popular music, singer-songwriter program. As a recent graduate of this esteemed academy, Lauren continues to perform and collaborate with fellow musicians while studying songwriting, audio production, and composition as a popular music student within USC's Thornton School of Music.
