The Ohm is an Ottawa Region based Group formed by the following musicians:
LOUIS BÉTOURNAY – Bass guitar – Lyrics: is a native of St-Boniface Manitoba. Louis is a passionate musician of many styles ranging from Blues, Rock and Jazz. As an accomplished bassist, both electric and upright bass, he has accompanied many Ottawa Area bands such as Alligator Combo and the JP Ranger Band. His bass influences could be cited as Ray Brown, Willie Dixon and Adam Clayton as models of inspiration.
MICHÈLE FRANCOEUR – Vocals – Lyrics and Acoustic Guitar: is a native of the Ottawa Area. Michèle participated in a multitude of studio sessions related to theatre and television sound track productions. As a Singer Songwriter, Michèle is bringing introspection, sensuality, depth and intensity to all the songs she sings. Having grown up listening to so many wonderful voices, her influences come from a variety of styles and artists such as Fleetwood Mac, Sarah McLachlan and Loreena Mckennitt, only to name a few.
GILLES CHOLETTE – Drums – Back Vocals: is a native of Sudbury Ontario. Gilles is a drummer with extensive experience. He is a music graduate from the Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario and of the York University music program and a music teacher. He worked in the Toronto and Ottawa region where he produced himself with many Rock, Country, R&B and Jazz formations. His main influences are Tony Williams, Steve Gadd, John Bonham, Vinnie Colaiuta and Chad Wackerman.
ALAIN LABELLE – Electric Guitar – Lyrics: is a native of the Ottawa Area and a versatile guitarist. Through the years, Alain has accompanied many Ottawa area musicians and bands. His main influences are David Gilmour, The Edge and Jeff Beck. His quest for the perfect sounds will never end.
Together they are fusing their energies and talents to bring introspective and groove oriented music to their audiences and fans. If you like Fleetwood Mac and early U2, you will like The Ohm.
