Autumn Dawn Leader was born in Chicago, Illinois, on an evening in July 1974 (don't get hung up on how "Autumn Dawn" was born in the Summer and at night! It was just the beginning of the madness that would be her life). She grew up in Florida where she began singing professionally at the tender age of four, working (primarily, but not exclusively) with her musician/artist/author mother, Ginilou DeMarco. In the early 1990s, she was bitten by the songwriting bug. Life happened...a lot happened...then, in 2004, at the age of 30, Autumn moved to the UK to live with her British photographer husband. In 2005, she took over the lead vocalist position for the Nottinghamshire based band "The Chairs" until the break up of the band in 2007. Since then she has been writing songs, raising children, writing songs, performing various gigs wherever and whenever there has been opportunity, all while writing more songs. She has released various digital albums and singles. Presently, Autumn is working with Chris Chambers, and they have created the acoustic duo 'The Way Out', and are out touring the UK, sharing their signature progressive folk-ish sound. Autumn is a unique contralto vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and writer of "heartsongs" and doesn't particularly like being pingeon-holed into a particular genre or other, but will happily wear the label of 'folk', if you insist that there must be a label of some kind or other. Her rich voice is versatile and her emotive music is heady and moving; her timeless style is a delight to audiences of all ages.
