Roman is an instrumental rock guitarist. His musical career began in his hometown of Chiclayo, Peru at the age of 14 with his first band Quimera, where he continued to network and make musical connections. Later on, in 1998 he founded the rock band Maresantos, which quickly gained a following in the peruvian rock scene reaching a second place in the national rock music charts. Roman began teaching guitar while attending his studies in music. The technically demanding Joe Satriani greatly influenced Roman's playing. He studied classical guitar for three years before moving to the United States to continue studying and pursuing his musical career. He eventually ended up in Virginia where he was very fortunate to get a foot in the door of a very good musical scene. “Early on, I realized that making it in a rock band was such a long-shot, that I better figure out other ways of making a living playing guitar. I began reading about players like Steve Lukather and Frank Gambale who made their living as session musicians. This really appealed to me, since I really loved a wide variety of musical styles.” The decision to pursue the studio scene led him to more serious music studies. In 2012, the Roman Arriola band was formed and has been quickly gaining a following in the Washington DC Area. Around that time, Roman began to record his first album "Purple Sensation", which will be released in 2013.
