Catherine's X is an eclectic mix of alt-rock/grunge/hard-rock that lands somewhere between Audio Slave and Seether with a hint of Metallica in the mix.
Born in early 2012, Catherine’s X Was first formed as a 3-piece with Aaron Owens on guitar/vocals, Kurt Marshall on bass, and Kirk Sickler on drums. After writing several songs together, the 3 were ready to have an outside ear come in and help polish up everything. Jeremy Fox, former guitarist with Creep and long-time Friend of Aaron’s was invited down to give a listen. Within a few short weeks, Jeremy’s input revolutionized the material and added exactly what was missing. It wasn’t long before the 3 piece added a 4th, and it was directly into the studio. Since then, the band has achieved regional success and has shared the stage with numerous national artists. They’re not looking to hit the “big time”… they’re just looking to have a good time.
The Catherine’s X sound is in the heavy-rock category with deep coded, sometimes story-like lyrics. Song meanings are anything from themes of dealing with depression to political activism. They are a proud Ohio-based band and are as American as they come.
