Al Diamond Phillips is a Vocalist originally from the Detroit Area, now living in the Cleveland Area, with a career spanning over 25 years with multiple bands and recording projects. Al was exposed to a diverse musical background as a child, growing up in the Detroit area. Coming from a migrant southern (hillbilly) family Al was exposed to country music as well as sounds from Detroit including Motown, MC5, Ted Nugent, Bob Seger, Alice cooper and Grand Funk. At the age of 15 Al discovered Heavy Metal through the incredible voice of Ronnie James Dio, and would be forever hooked on the genre. Al started singing for bands as a teenager, and by the time he was in his early twenties he was touring the country with the band Groovetribe. At the age of 25 Al gave it all up and started a family. Before long the old itch returned and Al looked for new ways to express his vocal ability, He studied Opera at Kent State University where he also starred as Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar. Al continues to make music, most recently with the band Nevermet, a group of musicians that as the name implies have Never Met. their Debut album Virtual Insanity was released on July 10 2012 and is available on Reverbnation. March 9, 2014 Al released the album Sessions, to commemorate the studio sessions he recorded with the Late Bryan L Johnson, who died March 10 2009. the album covers three distinct recording projects by the duo.
