"21 year old Raymond "LR" Hawkins, is a refreshing example of what Boston has to offer in the age old argument about local emcees. Born in Dorchester,MA, the young emcee is no stranger to the struggle; using basketball as the goal to escape, he set out on his journey to be more than another fallen soldier, as so many of his friend and family had become. Around the age of 15, though restless with his conquest to make it out, LR noticed that basketball, though enjoyable, didn't allow him to have a release from the day to day stress the city had to offer. With basketball not being a proper outlet for his frustration and hungry, LR took to the pen and pad. Slowly, but surely LRs idea of venting became seen as undeniable talent. Having completed to projects entitled "Loyalty & Respect" and "The Foundation" with the help of engineer/producer Coke Boy P, LR is looking for a lager platform to showcase his talent to the world and be a voice for not only a struggling city, but many of those fallen soldiers whose story was never told."
