The LiquidIsland Band (This New Jersey rock band began in 1995 as a local garage band).
John Carr and Keith Forman had met in junior high school, through mutual friends and a shared interest and activity in sports. Music was the “go to” stress release for John and Keith but became quite serious after 11th. grade. Bon fires and car stereos blasting the sounds of Led Zeppelin, AC/DC and the rest of the great guitar rock bands filled the high school nights against the guitar playing and arguments about how to play what current riff that was popular at the time.
Following high school, Keith remained in South Jersey with his family business in Wrightstown and kept playing guitar and writing songs for the next ten years. After performing in Los Angeles, New Mexico, Japan and other places, John left the heavy metal, punk and classic rock of the West Coast to return to New Jersey in mid-1995 with a pocket full of demo recordings and unsigned record contracts.
John’s vocals and Keith’s guitar riffs came together in the spring of 1995 and they began to record Keith’s music with a Yamaha 4-track recording device. They haven’t stopped yet… The bicoastal break between 1983 and 1995 was resolved and LiquidIsland now has a brand new CD release, GO YOUR WAY, available now by direct mail and via download from CD Baby, iTunes, Spotify, Amazon and several other stream locations.
In the past twenty years, John has gone with his own bands at times and did his own music. The project that started as a 4-song demo titled, NEW DAY, recorded in 1996, which featured Keith’s original music opened the door to more players and presented how serious the LiquidIsland band is. Keith recorded an EP, NEW DAY, in 1996; 3 additional LPs were recorded and released between 2003 and 2016: CULMINATION, TOURNAMENT OF SURPRISES and MAJOR FORCE.
John tells a story about running into high school classmates “from time to time” and letting them know that he and Keith still play music and perform from time to time and they reply, “You guys were some hard core jocks back in the day.” “It’s like they just can't believe that people have dreams and they intend to fight the good fight. Any ways…” John continues, “We love to make music for people to jam on… We have had a great time performing [throughout] the tri-state area for the last twenty years. Look for LiquidIsland online and see what's coming up next.”
Keith, John, Ritt, Bernie, and Pete are LIQUIDISLAND.
